Wow, this thread has been very active for the better part of 3 years....
Thought I would post about the zorilles because that's what put Cedars on the map for almost everyone here.
2025 has seen some shake-ups for the zorilles... earlier this year a new exhibit was constructed and opened for the zorilles with nocturnal lighting in the hopes of better activity and breeding.
More recently, however, Ziggy, the male of the pair, who was 'up there' in age, was rather lethargic and not responding to food. And so the decision was made to euthanise Ziggy to prevent the furthering of a condition not deemed humane to prolong.
I'm sure this will be unfortunate news for everyone as it is for I. I only ever saw Ziggy once, before the female - Stardust [who remains alive at time of writing] arrived. Here's to hoping that the other zorilles in the UK will lead fruitful lives... and perhaps even multiply!
Even if there is a private breeding scene of zorille... which there probably is... if I am not mistaken
