new collection in Staffordshire

Meerkats ! ? !

Wow, I must get over there quickly - such a brilliant rarity in British collections these days.

Not really a new collection though. Just a farm getting meerkats.
No its not a new collection, but it is new that the place now has to have to have a Zoo Licence,to keep a species! That is worth mentioning as it is another, collection that now keeps exotics that are not a domestic exotic!

actually the article clearly states the farm park only opened a month ago.

Once they have their zoo licence to hold meerkats, presumably there will be opportunity to widen their scope if they desire (monkeys etc).

This place seems to be on the same road and just about 6km away from Blackbrook. A very interesting situation...

Interesting indeed, now you point that out.....

And in the meantime, the planning application for the redevelopment of Blackbrook has yet to be submitted to my knowledge.

I knew I remembered the name Leek when I read it in the article. I've been there.

I wonder how much they plan to expand into exotics. Perhaps it will just be a regular tourist farm with meerkats, lemurs and coatis.
