Ah I did think that might be the case as they still have a fair few of the 24 that hatched a couple of years back from a natural mating of Telu and Mutu (who have both sadly died).

I'm not sure whether the plans have progressed at all, but I think Bristol was planning to convert the Zona Brazil area into a Philippines exhibit. So that could be a possible development as well.

Is this project still planned to be going ahead?

Do you have any up to date info on Bristol's Zona Brazilia area? At one time the zoo map indicated that it was to be turned into a development for animals from the Philippines but I don't think current map shows this.

No, I was basing it off an earlier comment on this thread. I will remove it from my most recent post as I don't believe this development is in their plans any more.

As noted previously in this thread, the flamingo enclosure is open at Lotherton Hall. It is not walkthrough however. Since then the new shop/ entrance and Visayan Warty Pig enclosure have also been opened.

Birdworld opened a new pair of large aviaries for cockatoos and a series of aviaries (6?) highlighting the plight of Asian songbirds earlier this year.

Lemur Forest is open at Hoo Farm, has been for a while. But didn't see any Water Buffalo there.

Also they have a new enclosure for Arctic Fox.

Belfast Zoo have completed a new set of enclosures for smaller monkeys. Off the top of my head the species included Golden Lion Tamarin, Emperor Tamarin, Pied Tamarin, Cotton Top Tamarin Common Marmoset, and Red Titi Monkey.
They also built an aviary over the old maned wolf enclosure.
