SEA LIFE Birmingham New marine mammal rescue facility

Having finally visited today, all I can say is I hope it was designed with sea otters in mind as it's extremely small for the two (they've received a replacement for the one that died) seals in there. It looks like one of the exhibits @FunkyGibbon has recently posted from that abominable Polar Park in China, or one of those inadequate enclosures found in certain Japanese collections. I have a couple of poor photos on my phone that I'll put in the gallery later, not brilliant but should give a sense of scale. The viewing areas are quite dark and my battery was too low to use the flash.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Not the greatest quality, but it gives a bit of scale. Note the pool is considerably deeper behind the seal but the tank is just too small.

SEA LIFE have seriously messed up here.

Under the guise of it being a 'rescue facility', they've spent a huge amount of money building an exhibit for sea otters, which never arrived, that looks like it would have been inadequate for them anyway. They've then filled this empty white elephant of an exhibit with animals that it is even more inadequate for and are far less of a draw to the public. Disgraceful.
