Hello everybody! :)

As I newly became member here maybe I should introduce myself. I'm at the moment 19 years old and i'm living in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. I discovered this great forum a couple of months ago, but I became member just recently.

Have been interested in animals as long as I can remember, and I've wanted to work as a zookeeper since I was about 10 years old, when I discovered the great world of zoos for real. Today I've come a few steps closer to that goal. I have a seasonal employment as animal keeper during the summer months at both Skansen and the Skansen Aquarium (which is a separate company) in Stockholm. So I'm satisfied for now, but off course my plan is to have this occupation as a permanent job in the future.

I've been to the majority of swedish zoos, but unfortunately almost no foreign zoos, only London Zoo (I don't count my visit to danish Kattegattcentret, for the reason that I was 7 years old then and don't remember anything).

Finally, I want to take this opportunity to apologize for my bad english, in this introduction as well as in future posts.

Have a nice day everyone!

Hi welcome on the forum! I enjoyed Stockholm a lot when I was there! Love Sweden :). You're still young so don't worry, you still have time enough to visit zoo's in other country's. I'm 22 and I also have short list :) (but it's getting bigger!).
In Sweden I went to Skansen. When I was there they had Koala's, but now anymore I think. Is that right?

Very welcome to ZooBeat from another Swede, Jodea! I am pretty new to the site myself. Don´t worry about your English, it seems that you express yourself ten times better in this language than I do.

You have already uploaded a great photo from Skansen. Maybe you have more in store?

Thanks

Thanks a lot for those welcomes.

Yes, marc, that's correct, there are no koala's at the Skansen Aquarium anymore. They were only there during a loan from San Diego Zoo, for about 1,5 years (spring 2005 - nov 2006). The exhibit which they lived in are now transformed into a nice desert exhibit with antelope ground squirrels, jerboas, leopard tortoises, mousebirds, zebra finch and quails.

Dan: Tackar för välkomnandet. Yes I have lots of zoo-photos which I plan to upload here and share with you guys.

Bye!
