My name is Steve Jacobs, i owned and ran Phoenix Gardens Horticulture from 2004 til 2009 and was a member of BIAZA during this time. I sourced and supplied hardy exotic plants for a number of UK Zoo's and was the horticultural consultant for Twycross from 2004 til 2007 during which time i was responsible for the sourcing, design, planning and planting of the newly developed tropical house and the The Mary Brancker Waterways as well as the hard landscaping of the main cafe area and other smaller planting projects. My association with Twycross ended with the appointment of their new head gardener.
In 2010 i became head gardener of a private estate in Gloucestershire and remained in the post until i was made redundant at the end of 2012.
I still grow hardy exotics and consult on projects that require them in their planting schemes but this is on an ad-hoc basis.
