Hi all

Just wanted to introduce myself, this will be my first posting and am currently working my way round the site. So far i think it is fantastic. I'm not sure there are many occupations where you would get people spending their spare time on a forum relating to their work but then i havn't met maany keepers that dont have a devoted passion to their work. I look forward to chatting to you all soon.

Hi Meg T, Mark and zooman

Thanks for getting in touch and being my first responses. Just to give you a bit of an incite into some of my background, i have been a keeper for around the last 17 years and Head keeper at my current collection for the past 10 years and currently have in my charge about 120 different species.
The vast majority of my experiance throughout my career has been with primates off nealy all classes but my responsibilities include the whole collection that we have at the park as well as the 18 keepers that work in it.
I have spent time working at Howletts wild Animal Park on the primate section (which i would probably rate as my top favourit collection) as well as spending time at ZSL, Monkey world and Jersey Zoo on a voluntary basis many years ago.

I am an avid bird watcher as well as an amature flora and fauna photographer and like evryone else spend most of my time visiting as many collections as i can in the country and across the world. I have been fortunate enough throughout my years to gain a large network of friends in the british zoo community as well as across Europe

I would love to hear about all of you and what your experiences have been and i too look forward to conversing with you in the future, thank you all for being so welcoming and have a great weekend.

Hi Zoo Man! I myself would love to work with Primates and you sound very experieneced so I know where to come if I need any questions answered :) Monkey world must be a fantastic place to volunteer, I'm a big fan of the series!
