The construction of a new oceanographic centre will start spring 2021 in the center of Dieppe. The building of 17.000 sq meters will hold :
- an abyssal diving pit 56 metres deep supposed to be the deeper in the world,
- a scientific centre and a museum,
- a 10.000.000 litres aquarium which will hold 20.000 animals of 1.400 species with 103 tanks with fresh and salt waters. The major tank will be 2.000.000 litres and will be able to hold and breed sand tiger sharks.
For the supply of fish they want to set up an aquaculture farm.
The estimate cost of the building is 80.000.000 euros and they want to attract 500.000 visitors each year.
