I did think of red panda but I'm not so sure. Perhaps there is quite a bit of individual variation in facial markings but it doesn't really match up with this one

The picture from which the image was taken was printed in Z number 27, Autumn 2006. It is a red panda. I just found it while looking for something else.

Just has a look at Chester's new website- it doesn't seem that much better to me but that's just one opinion. It would be if they carried more news on the animal collection but as someone said, they seem to be just marketing tools(I suppose that's fair enough) nowadays. Since I found this forum I've virtually stopped looking at zoo websites for information- unless someone highlights something in particular.

P.S. Is that you Hornbill, featured on the website in the Frost Fair advert?

Incientally Hornbill- these skating sessions they do at Xmas in some zoos nowadays- how do they do it- just flood an area and freeze it to make an ice rink.? Whereabouts in the zoo does Chester have their skating area?

Chester's skating area last year was near the Cafe Tsavo, but this year it's before the entrance, but you have to enter the zoo to get into it.

I've no idea how they do it, but it is very good.
