3 pages of species kept outside New Zealand and still one not mentioned !!!!!
The New Zealand Falcon is kept at least in privat collections and I guess also some are kept ( and bred ) in the many small public Bird-of Prey parks in Germany, Austria and France.
Nick Fox is quite an important name in the study and conservation of the falcons in NZ, so I guess the export would also have benefits for that (in terms of research).I didn't know about this species being kept in Europe either. Rather surprised that NZ gave export permission for them, even in 1983. Thanks for the info.
After a long period of silence I found yet another New Zealand species kept outside it native home - a domesticated this time. Emmen Zoo - the Netherlands report that it recently obtained 2 Kune kune swines, a breed I had never heared of before. I'm also not informed from were they got these animals.
