Bioparc Valencia New Zoo at Valencia

I visited the new zoo, the Bioparc, at Valencia yesterday. Very impressive, not a cage in sight, the animals are kept in their areas mostly by deep water channels and the odd well placed rock. It is all set in natural looking surroundings, the most impressive being a large central area where Giraffe, antelope, deer and other species can roam freely together. Another great area is the Madagascan zone where guided groups can enter by double doors, inside the Lemurs are completely free to roam and can be seen scurring oaround the trees directly above you.
I spent a great two hours there, taking over 400 photographs, some of which are attached, The access is superb and allows quite close contact with many of the animals. I would have spent longer but my camera ran out of memory, I now have an annual pass so can come and go as I please and will take many, many more shots.
My only slight complaint is that, although all the areas are well labelled with descriptions of the wildlife, in Spanish and in English, there is no guide book available. Possibly because the Bioparc is not yet completely finished, but this means I have several photos of unknown animals!

Hey Pete,
Nice photos, the park looks really good. Have you put any photos in our gallery yet? If not, it'd be nice to see some pictures of the enclosures as a whole if you have any. If there are photos of any animals you are struggling to identify, I'm sure someone will be able to help you.

Thanks for posting,

Hi Pete.
When you visit the Park agaqin, can you check out the situation with their Gorillas?- they have one male(Mambi) and probably two females- I'd be interested to know if they are being together at present or not- also any photos of them and the enclosure would be interesting too...

Thanks for the offer of help Chris. I will probably post a few more later that need identifying, and will put some in the gallery.
When I got home i realised that I´d been so excited about taking pictures of the animals that I don´t actually have anything showing off the enclosures. I´ll make sure to get some shots next time I go.
The Gorillas weren´t on disp`lay yet, Pertinax. The guide shows where they will go, but at the moment there are still areas to be finished off, not sure when that will be knowing Spanish workers!, but I´ll keep you posted.
