New Zooguidebooks

oh it's definately a new one for the 40th Anniversary - I have a couple of copies of the one from last year (Green cover with the close up of a meerkat) and this new one only started being given out this month.

have just emailed knowsley to ask if there is a new one this year as the one on the online shop is still the meerkat one from last year

If you'd read the post above I just confirmed that it's definately a new guidebook - brought out this month to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the park - you could have saved yourself and Knowsley a pointless phonecall!

i did read your post and just wanted them to confirm it as like i said they still show the older one on the website. and if you read my post it was a email and not a phone call. god why do people have to get so wound up on here

Sorry - didn't mean to sound so bad tempered - monday mornings - I hate them!!

Anyway yes - you're right their website does still have the old one on it - but like I said there is a new one available from now.

@Zooman. A little advice- don't care about the guidebook pictures in the british zoo online stores, a few of them still using the covers of older guidebooks, altough they have published a few other editons since then, Bewdley for example, there is still the cheetah editionin the online store, but they have published two more editions since this one.

oh right thanks for the advice did not know that.

and your right mondays are not good are they lol

Hi there just to confirm like Karoocheetah said Knowsley does indeed have a new guide out this year it has a family of 6 Meerkats on the cover and a 40 year logo on the top right hand side.

Think its time for your medication again Karoocheetah,I suggest a visit to a zoo with a Cusimanse!!!

It seems, merkats became the new cover stars for zoo guidebooks, so the tiger isn't the Number 1 anymore...

Got today the new Knowsley Guidebook, it is a very good guidebook, full of information about the history about the park, so there are some pictures of older Knowsley guidebooks inside, very nice. Thats what i like on british zoos, most of them know about their history and they publish special gudiebooks to their anniversaries.

Some german zoos, which have their 100 or even 150 years anniversary this year, ( Munich and Dresden ) do not have published guidebooks to their special years. Very sad.

Blue Tablet or Red Tablet.....mmmm choices choices!! :p

Cusimanse would be nice - never seen one so it might send me over the edge though!! Is the world ready?:)

What about 2011 guidebooks for South Lakes WAP, Paignton,Bewdley, Blair Drummond, Longleat or of any aquarium ?

And is there a new guidebook for copenhagen zoo since the latest edition 2009 ?

New zooguides in Poland in 2011: Krakow (after 14 years break), Plock (after 15 years), Torun (children guide) and Warszawa. Plus two guides published at the end of 2010: Zamosc (first ever guide for this zoo) and Chorzow.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis has its first guidebook out (unsurprisingly there's a Snow Leopard on the cover) and Blair Drummond has a new (at least to me) guidebook with Zebras on the cover.

Fossil Rim (Texas, USA) has an animal id booklet that I bought in the gift shop a couple weeks ago. Publication date says 2010. However, it is very small and does not really amount to much. They had a thicker book for sale to id the plants of Fossil Rim, but I did not get it.
