New Zooguidebooks

Blackpool released a new guidebook in 2011, I went to Yorkshire Wildlife Park in 2012, they had a newish guidebook with Vladimir the Tiger on the front cover.
 
Does anyone know what new guide books are out for 2012. i know of marwell, Zsl,Longleats and woburns is there any others at all any info would be great thanks
 
Knowsley Safari Park also has a new guidebook for 2012 - issued in the last couple of weeks, it's a green cover and has the new branding style all over it. Still informative though. Confirms that the Bison have left the collection and also includes the Lesser Kudu and Blesbok now.
Statement that the new Bat House which opens in May 2012 (sic) will contain Egyptian Fruit Bats - popped in yesterday but it was lashing down so didn't investigate the bat house or even check if it is actually open yet. Sorry!
 
New England Aquarium has a brand-new, large, all-colour, glossy "Official Commemorative Guide" book that was published in 2012. I purchased it for $15 and it is 66 pages in length.
 
Cleveland, Georgia Aquarium and San Diego Zoo Safari Park have also released new guidebooks for 2012. All are wonderful books!
 
The January 2013 member magazine for San Diego lists a member special ($5 off in February) for a new Safari Park Guide Book. I assume that is the one referenced in the above post.
 
I was a bit disappointed with the new Safari Park Guide book. It does not contain a map, and most of the content was lifted from their website.

No map? Are you kidding me? I guess I do not need to try to order it. Thanks for the heads up.
 
Does anybody want to buy/swap a few guides? I currently have a spare of a 2010 Paignton and a spare of 2012/13 Yorkshire Wildlfe Park, would be happy to negotiate :)
 
I may sound like an idiot, but what is a guidebook? Does it have information about the animal or something?
 
The Phoenix Zoo (USA) is producing an official guidebook that will go on sale starting November 2013.

This is very exciting as I live within driving distance and zoo guidebooks are quite a rarity in the USA these days.
 
Indeed Us-Zoo Guidebooks are almost extinct,because just a few people are buying them.But I was surprised to see also Philadelphia,Cleveland, the San Diego Zoo and WAP and new England Aquarium have now new gudiebooks, but they are all procuced by Beckon Books, which also has made the"Sovenier Guidebooks"for Shedd and Georgia Aquarium.

But because of the high Quality of these books, more than a Souvierbook than a true Guidebook, the selling Price is very high, around 20 Dollars, so only a few pepple buy them-all Zoos have a free map, and thats what the vistors need.

I hope to see more Guidebooks of Us-Facillities in the Future.

By the way-Berlin Tierpark has also a new Guidebook, very fresh, published a couple of days ago, with,of course, the Gerenuks on the cover-so it is the second guidebook with that species on the cover-the other is the 1957 Edition of Bellevue Zoo.

I'm curious if Dr.Knierim will follow that line and procuce also every year a new guidebook for the Tierpark, but I have to say,I don't belive it, because in his four years in Munich he never has published an own guidebook, he has just reprinted the 2008 Edition. So what will happen to Berlin famous"Bongo"and"Milu" Magazines in the future ?

I was wondering the same thing! I own the Elephant Odyssey guidebook and I'm interested in purchasing all of the new American guidebooks but how does one go about doing that? Amazon.com? Abebooks.com? Those are a couple of great sources for zoo books.
 
The Philadelphia Zoo has an online store that sells their guidebook. Category List

San Diego used to, but it appears they no longer do.
