That's most interesting. If there is anyone with access to that paper could they summarise the points for me?- Abstract of the discription of a new striped squirrel from China :
A new species of Tamiops (Rodentia, Sciuridae) from Sichuan, China | Zootaxa
The only Tamiops listed for Wanglang is T. swinhoei, and no members of this genus are known to overlap in range (if two species occur in the same geographical location they are separated altitudinally). So is T. minshanica the only species at Wanglang (i.e. it has always just been assumed to be T. swinhoei), or are both species found there in different areas?
Sounds like I have an armchair tick.
