Article on the new Turtle Canyon that will open in the Rainforest on March 22nd.

Why? It sounds ridiculous.
I kind of thought the same thing. It sounds like a good idea but the name is odd, it means the Rainforest will be closed for a second time in 5 months for renovation, and the species don't fit in that kind of environment. I wonder if this means the white alligators Snowball and Snowflake will be replaced. It sounds like it considering Thunder, the snapping turtle will be added to it, and I figure they will give him a pool with a glass viewing.
I just.... don't get it. turtles and tortoises are different. this is extremely stupid. dumbing things down when you are open to educate people. show them things they may never see. not some ridiculous exhibit. not sure. my understanding was that they were temporary?
If you mean the gators then yes. I guess they were supposed to be a 'Christmas themed' attraction. They should put the Rainforest back to the way it was. Small-clawed otters in the one area, and have free flying lorikeets in the next, along with pythons or a crocodilian in the last exhibit.

It appears so far from pictures that a new, massive Galapagos Tortoise was added to this exhibit (http://www.zoochat.com/589/jan-2014-rainforest-white-alligator-exhibit-351316/), and Thunder, the Alligator Snapping Turtle was moved to this exhibit (http://www.zoochat.com/589/jan-2014-rainforest-white-alligator-exhibit-355549/) and a Turtle Touch area was added to one of the corners that contains over 10 but small turtles and tortoises that guests can interact with.

After having my walk through interview for a promotional photographer, I noticed that Gator Alley is once again "losing its jaws" If you know what I mean. Another crocodillian was taken out; the Morelet's croc, and has been replaced by a Caiman lizard. The red footed tortoise was moved to that empty exhibit.
"Sweet Pea" the bowmouth guitarfish ("shark ray") has given birth to nine pups:

After almost 17 years, the Bizarre and Beautiful gallery, once filled with an octopus, Japanese spidercrabs, elephantnose fish, clownfish, electric clams, and even a eyelash viper, will be completely transformed into an attraction dedicated to seahorses, sea Dragons, shrimpfish, pipefish, and trumpetfish. This interactive exhibit will open in April.
