This week 1.2 Hooded parrots (Psephotellus dissimilis) arrived from Paradise Park, they can be found in the Australian species exhibit along with potoroos and swift parrot. The Instagram post refers to these parrots as "Hooded parakeets", but I believe they are actually hooded parrots. Especially these statements more match the hooded parrots than the hooded parakeets: "Male parakeets tend to have a bright turquoise blue colouration with bright yellow and grey-brown wings, whilst females assume more of an olive green colouration.
Our 3 new hooded parakeets currently all have the same olive green colours to their feathers as they are still juveniles."
Could someone confirm this?
