The newborn seal Ole went to Seehundstation Norddeich (rescue center for seal pups ) due to health issues but came back a few days ago.

A female Kirk's dik-dik was born (12.10.24). The zoo has now 1.7 animals which seems to be a very large group.

In late September the young chimp Kiano died due to problems with his heart.
A few weeks later the female giraffe Ursula died at the age of 25,5 years.

The last female giraffe 'Makena' from Alwetterzoo Münster was sent to Zoo Osnabrück (24.02.25).

After 18 years, marsupials more precisely two (1.1 Billy and Willa) Tasmanian long-nosed potoroos can be seen again in Osnabrück. They live in one of the aviaries opposite the aquarium.

The aquariums reptile section is still under construction and will feature a bigger enclosure for the giant tortoises.
Standing's day geckos arrived in February.
Four smal new aquariums for relatively rare species were set up during December (Bintan licorice gourami, Betta spec. "Jade", Barred topminnow, Tiger limia)

The zoo has welcomed a new female red panda (Yindi). The 8-month-old arrived from Rotterdam last week. Yindi and the male Pong (11 years) are expected to produce offspring in the future.

Moreover another camel was born (Aciro).

Osnabrück is now home to two asiatic lions (Rajah and Kiara). Rajah (21 month old male) arrived on the 24th March from Zoo Aalborg and Kiara (30 month old female) on the 26th March from Zoo Jerusalem.
The lion enclosure was rennovated in 2021 and can be split in half. This means that the last african lion of the zoo can be displayed on one half, while the two new lions can be displayed on the other half.
