Zoo Osnabrück News about Osnabrück Zoo

Don't forget to mention as new: Diana monkeys (mind the subspecies!!!!), red forest buffalo as well as bongos!
 
And another new species arrived at Osnabrück, a pair of Maned wolfs came from Zoo Amiens ( France ).
 
Zoo Osnabrück recieved a 7 month old male Tufted deer from Zoo Heidelberg. Like in Heidelberg he shares his enclosure with Red pandas.
 
This summer the renovated apehouse will open. With urangs and gibbons. After this they will built "North America" with Bizons, Black bears, puma's and wolves. On the site of the current wolf wald.
 
A first breeding for the zoo : at the beginning of February a Wolverine was born to male Loki and female Vilja :).
 
The Ape-house at Osnabúck is being rebuild at the moment. The indoor-enclosure will be enlarged from 94 to 234 squar-meter and the outdoor-enclosure from 303 to 358 squar meter. Its planned to being finished at the beginning of next year.
 
Antilopes are doing fine at Osnabrück:
Impalas - 2 females born
Common waterbuck - 1 female born
Greater kudu - 2 young born
 
A new enclosure is planned to be build at Zoo Osnabrück, a Bat-cave. The plan is it will become the home of a group of about 15 Pallas'long-tongued bats.
