Visited this zoo for the first time today and some updates from the local paper and talking with zoo staff (not too many people around today and one keeper came over to us and happily chatted with us for a bit). Same with Lee Richardson Zoo, I will be posting a species list, updated photos, and a short review in the near future.

First, the Clouded Leopard pair discussed above are not fully on display yet. Apparently they are still adjusting to their new habitat. Also, the female, Ping, was injured when Harry (the male) tried to mate with her. The zoo is slowly letting visitors see them, and there is a sign and a barricade blocking the path to the exhibit (as seen below). Funnily enough, you can actually get closer to the exhibit from outside of the zoo than at this point inside the zoo.

As noted above, the second lion exhibit is open and was occupied by the zoo's two female African Lions. Having all three lions on exhibit at the same time (2 females in one yard, 1 male in adjacent yard) made for a very active trio of lions! The downside of not having the paths finished around this new expansion was that the binturong habitat was not accessible. Also as noted above, the tamandua and I guess two-toed sloth exhibit is not accessible and is actually inside a staff only area at the moment. It is a very odd part of the zoo. It appears on the map, but really there isn't a way to get there.

While not everyone loves a creepy-crawly, millipedes are crucial to the ecosystem because they clean up decaying organic matter and release nutrients back into the soil. These little guys can live up to 10 years! They live off-exhibit because they will spend a lot of time burrowing, but we plan to include them in our education programs and keeper chats! | Great Bend-Brit Spaugh Zoo
