Le Parc Animalier d'Auvergne News from the Parc Animalier d'Auvergne

@Jana, sorry for diverting from the initial subject but you infer the current "Amur leopard EEP" include some founders from the Northern Chinese subspecie ?
I know taxonomy is moving and that a the two subspecie may actually be considered as only one unit but I was not aware that it was also the case in captive population.

It has been discussed before here: Amur leopards

Birth of a brazilian porcupine :)
This is the second one in less than a year. Mother is three years old Sarina and father is Henk, 13 years old.
The first baby, called Kiki (born 17th May 2020), should go this year to...Singapore o_O

Just found out about this zoo on “50 must see exhibits in Europe” thread. Having looked at the map online and through the threads on here it looks like a really good zoo yet is completely lacking in attention on here. No gallery items??

Unfortunately yes. The zoo is something like anywhere in France and hard to reach without car. Even if you have a car (which is my case) the zoo is long drive and not near any other interesting zoos.

I must go but when

Important moves in the takin group :
- females Mishmi takin Phimphou and Larissa left the park for Tierpark Berlin.
- male Sichuan takin Jiao arrived from Tierpark Berlin.
- male Shensi takin Dagu arrived from Zoo Dresden.

So now the park has a bachelor group of takin with three subspecies !
