Visited today and was quite impressed. For it's size we were there three hours which was longer than I expected. Some notes:
- Sadly the palm civets were a no show, quite gutting because it was one of the species I wanted to see most.
- There's two amur leopards now but it's looking like they haven't been introduced to each other yet.
- Construction is continuing for the new tiger enclosure.
- Whoever updated zootierliste last didn't do a good job, no idea why the red panda and saltwater crocodiles were listed as former holdings considering they were well signed and very visible...
- This might have been mentioned up thread but there is only one mugger crocodile left, this is the final individual in the UK and considering how rare the species is in Europe I doubt it will be replaced once it's gone. Anyone know how old it is?
- There is two empty enclosures in the cat cloisters currently, I imagine one of these used to be for the golden cats? Anyone know if there is plans for new cat species or to extend the current ones?
Overall I had a great visit and I'd definitely recommend going if you happen to be around the Broads, I may end up at another zoo this week but currently unsure.
