Zoo Gdańsk News from Zoo Gdańsk

The zoo built a brand new house and outside exhibit for black and white ruffed lemurs. This will be a new species for the growing collection. Lemurs should arrive from the UK soon, currently they are sorting out import documentation.

A few months ago a female Scimitar-horned oryx (Oryx dammah) left the zoo and recently a female arrived from Zoo Schmiding.
From Tierpark Berlin a female Barasingha (Rucervus duvaucelii) arrived, earlier this year 3 Barasinghas were born, a zoo first breeding for Gdansk.

Recently 2 Capybaras (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris) were born.

The gender of the two capybaras born last year have recently been revealed, a male and a female.

A litter of 4 capybaras was born. Also a new batch of greater flamingos has hatched in the colony - the fourth year in row the species bred at the zoo.

The zoo has sent its Grey mouse lemurs away to Frankfurt. And instead received a pair of Goodman's mouse lemurs (Microcebus lehilahytsara) from Plzen.
