This news may have gone a bit unnoticed. It is the first female giraffe held at Gdansk Zoo and as such a bit of a historical break through. I do not know the complete history of F Alia in Budapest Zoo ... Anyone?

Formerly, the zoo kept bachelor males and lastly 2 hybrid giraffe MM. Just I saw an item of a reticulated giraffe male being transferred to Chorzow / Katowice too.... (???).

Any information on the current make up of the herd (which other individual like MM still present)?

Do You know the name and age of their remaining hybrid male?
(is this male sterilised or vasectomised?)

The F from Austria is probably the female juvenile Rothschildt's giraffe born 18/12/2024 in Zoo Schmiding. Her name is Malika....

Gdansk has two lynxes - a pair Olz (15, born in Gdansk) and Lira (15, arrived from Vienna). They recently moved into former Amur tiger enclosure.

Gdansk´s only Amur tiger Dominik (20) died in recent months. His enclosure got refreshed and now houses Eurasian lynx. Former lynx enclosure is currently empty.

Good move, their old-but-not-so-old enclosure was a real miscast.

I noticed on ZTL that their last Persion leopard is gone too; do you know what species is now living in that enclosure?
