Well, obviously the Giraffe House is now going ahead. I wouldn't say the pace of expansion is increasing though, current rate is about one new exhibit per year- its still not quite a fully fledged wildlife park though they do have some quality exhibits.

Giraffes they will be receiving are Kordofan giraffes; confirmed by a volunteer 
A new enclosure has now opened in the Walled Gardens housing Kirs Dik Dik, Grey Crowned Crane, and Fischers Turaco.
The giraffe house building is well under way, with the view to it being opened for the summer holidays.
Wild Place is going down the glamping route with camping pods being installed near to the Gelada (Camp Baboon), pods will be available for £295 each a night.

Are they Kordofan? It doesn't say....
I wondered that, but there are no holders of Kordofan in the Netherlands( according to ZTL) , so 2 of them can't be.
we've named two of them Tom and Gerry, but we want readers to pick "an ethnic African name" for the third one...
The Kordorfan giraffe never materialised in the end, they are 3.0 reticulated giraffe.
I wonder if male Reticulateds have been brought in temporarily , or if they have replaced the Kordofan idea permanently. Will there be a changeover later on perhaps. Ironic that there is a pure Reticulated female not ten miles away....

Despite what Wildplace was saying about Kordofan they were never going to get them straight off,they have received an all male group of Reticulated.In the future they could get a group of Kordofan.
Yes, knowing Bristol as I do, I suspect they got these in as a temporary measure and Kordofan are still on their intended list.
Possibly. Just Kordofans for now seem confined to France mostly and with no likelihood of breeding groups forthcoming outside Continental Europe for now. There are still a few candidate zoos' intending to switch from all male to breeding in France as it is (see Champrepus). This before any other interested parties are considered.
The third one was named Dayo. So that means the group is made up of Tom, Gerry and Dayo. I wonder what Tom and Gerry's names where at Artis....we've named two of them Tom and Gerry, but we want readers to pick "an ethnic African name" for the third one...

It appears Wild Place now have pink pigeon(s).
I was there today and must say, the Giraffe house and viewing area is very nice. All 3 Giraffe were out and eating with the Zebra. It's nice to see the Eland with them too and the Red River Hogs have been moved to an adjoining enclosure.
I don't know if it would be possible but if the Okapi were included in the same enclosure it would be amazing.
The Guinea Fowl were roaming around the park and were very active.
The Cheetah and Lemurs were trying to stay out of the sun but the Gelada were active. The Crowned Crane and Dik Dik is a nice enclosure.
Does anyone have any idea what is next on their agenda?

The next planned exhibit is for bears next year, other animals mentioned include Lynx and Wolverine.
