I went to Noah's Ark today and a giraffe was born on Sunday 17th July. There is a hold up on the elephant sanctuary whilst they try and fund a million pounds.
Aren't their giraffe different subspecies?
They seem to operate outside of conventional Zoo guidelines- to this place a Giraffe is just a Giraffe I think.
...because god created all giraffes equal.
The male Giraffe is (I think) a hybrid.
The female is a pure Reticulata, obtained from Dvur Kralov which operates outside EEP guidelines I believe.
The offer has already been made and turned down, just like it was with the zebras!Perversely, if one could convince the owners of the error of their ways it may yet become a pure-bred reticulated breeding group. However, given the feet firmly ensconced in the sands attitude with the ownership that ultimately led to their being outside BIAZA that remains a slim possibility.

Stupidity, bliss and ignorance probably married into one. The very reason NOAH's will never gain recognition in serious zoo circles. Sad ...

Probably viewed by them as being 'racist'....![]()
Where are they sourcing elephants? A new video says that 'Elephant Eden' is opening in June?
I would be interested to know which UK zoo - and surely there are not that many with African elephant cows - will loan out individuals to NOAH's. Really am ...![]()
EDIT 2: This also of course represents the abandonment of the 'rescue' angle!
Or the keeping of a breeding group of 1.3 Asians, also mooted at one stage(I think I read that on the noticeboards on their site.)
