Amur tigress Sundari at the Minnesota Zoo gave birth to 4 cubs on May 8, however, 1 cub didn't survive. The father of the cubs is the late Putin who passed away in March.

As noted by @Harrison in the Columbus Zoo news thread, Jupiter passed away on Sunday, June 26 after developing pneumonia caused by the COVID-19 virus.

The Columbus Zoo announced today that 1:0 Jupiter has passed away at the age of 14 due to complications with COVID-19.

As noted by @Smaggledagle in the Indianapolis Zoo new thread, Zoya gave birth to 3 cubs (2.1) on May 27th. The sire is Pavel. The cubs are being hand-reared.

Interesting to note that all 3 litters born so far this year have consisted of two males and one female (excluding deceased cubs).

It’s exciting that Pavel has finally sired some cubs after all those years at Smithsonian with Nikita (who didn’t like him).

Indianapolis Zoo Update:

Of the 2.1 cubs born May 27, 1.0 has unfortunately died.

The remaining 1.1 are healthy and have been named Nicolas and Helina.

As noted in the Riverside Discovery Center news thread by @Smaggledagle and @Aardvark 251, male Ussuri and female Nika passed away in December. Their deaths were caused by the avian flu, which they got from eating goose meat donated by hunters.

Sadly, Helina, last of the 3 cubs born at Indianapolis, was euthanised. She died due to the same liver defect that led to the deaths of her littermates Roman (died Sep 2022) and Nicholas (Dec 2022).

0.1 Mila at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo passed away on Friday, August 25 after being involved in a 'freak accident.' She fell off of a waist-high bench while under anesthesia to treat a severe dental issue, resulting in a fatal spine injury. This is especially tragic given the work it took to import her from Toronto. She was also relatively genetically valuable being ranked the 13th most valuable female.

Roosevelt Park Zoo’s Amur tiger cubs are headed off to new homes. The two males Dmitri & Luka will be heading to another facility together. The female, Viktoria, will be going to to a separate facility. The cubs’ father, Viktor, will be sent somewhere else and Roosevelt Park Zoo will be receiving a new, 6 year old male in hopes of breeding with Zoya.
