Four elephants from Dublin Zoo are being prepared for transfer to America

Sorry if I'm very behind on the loop here, does anyone know which four elephants are going, and to which facility?

I first saw the news on the wonderful Laafsekikkers :) Laafsekikkers
It has been confirmed by the Cincinnati Zoo that they will be heading to Cincinnati. So exiting, I can’t wait to see them!

Also of interest, Billy at Denver is actually a full sibling to Anak. He was imported back in the 2010's. Kind of interesting how it came full circle, with basically his whole family eventually coming stateside as well.
It's also interesting how the entirety of Yasmin's line has been/will be exported out of Europe. Herself, daughter Anak, and sons Billy and Kabir are/will be in the US while son Kavi and grandson Ashoka are at Sydney Zoo in Australia. It makes sense though since all of these animals are extremely well represented as they are all combinations of the Chieng Mai, Motek x Warda, Maxi, and Mohti lines.

Would any one consider Casey a breeding bull because in 2010 he was reported mounting Rasha, or would he be post reproductive

Isn’t Casey back at Ringling now? If so he’s probably set to move to White Oak and hopefully he’ll be able to breed Charlie’s daughters since their other bulls (besides Vance, who I think is too old) are all related to the girls.

Yes he's back in ringling he was there since 2015 I think, and don't forget about Vance's daughters Bonnie and Shirley

Vance’s daughters Bonnie and Shirley, as well as Shirley’s daughters Mable and Piper are unrelated to Charlie and his several sons (besides one, Romeo’s half brother Irvin) so they have several bulls to breed with. I’m just worried about Charlie’s daughters (especially the older ones: Sara, Asha, etc.)

There is actually another bull that cannot breed with Shirley, Mable, and Piper that would be Gunther ( Charlie x Mala) Mala is the mother to Smokey, Hank, Tanya, Shirley, Gunther, and Aree, so they cannot breed with their two uncle's

I have some updates regarding Casey's fertility

"Groucho would be sold from the Bronx Zoo to begin the Fort Worth Zoo's elephant breeding program in April 1986. Before his transfer, Groucho sired the only calf born at the Bronx Zoo with Patti, a male named Astor. Astor died at 16 months old of the Elephant Endotheliotropic Herpes virus.

While in Texas, Groucho bred two different females to give birth to three calves. Babe gave birth to stillborn twin calves in June 1996. In December 1998, Rasha gave birth to the first live calf at the Fort Worth Zoo, a female named Bluebonnet.
After Groucho failed to continue to breed the Fort Worth Zoo received a second bull to restart a breeding program. Casey arrived in November 2005 from the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Center for Elephant Conservation.

Casey quickly bred after introductions with the females. In January 2008, Babe went into labor. However, the oversize calf would not enter the birth canal, killing both the calf and the mother."

And

"Angelica,16, born at the center, is expecting her first calf in 2013. Bonnie, 19, also born at the center, is expecting her second calf in 2013. Mala, 43, is expecting her 7th calf. Angelica and Mala’s unborn calves were both fathered by Romeo, 20, born at the center. While Bonnie is expecting her second calf conceived through artificial insemination, her first calf, Barack (born on the eve of the 09’ presidential inauguration), was born through the same method of breeding. 25 live calves have been born to Ringling, through their breeding program which is the most successful in the Western hemisphere. Bonnie is currently touring, as she was impregnated on the road. She will be transferred to the breeding center to give birth by her 18th month of gestation. Angelica will have the company of her mother Icky II, to assist her in the birthing process. Last year two calves were born. Nathan, and Piper (1,1).

Doc, 16, was transferred to the Rosamond Gifford zoo in November of last year to introduce new blood lines to the herd of females at the zoo. He has a breeding recommendation for four of the cows. Kirina, 18; Mali, 16; Romani, 37; and Targa, 30.

The only other instance of a Ringling bull being transferred to a AZA facility for breeding was the transfer of Casey, 42, to the Fort Worth Zoo in 2005. He fathered a stillborn calf in 2008, and is thought to have impregnated several of the cows. Which could be due 2013-2014."

Interesting to know that Bonnie and Mala were both pregnant and due in 2013 as well, anyone know what happened to the calves?

Not only them according to the elephant.se database Alana was pregnant with her sixth calf - as of 24 April 2013 and Icky II ,was is pregnant with her fifth calf - as of 24 April 2013.
That’s very interesting. I highly doubt all of the cows ending up having stillbirths/miscarriages. The calves may have been born but died of EEHV. Or: the calves are alive and are hidden away at Ringling. Lol, who knows at this point. I wish Ringling didn’t become so secretive about their elephants.

I couldn't agree more, and maybe claves were born because 35 elephants are being transferred to White Oak maybe that group has calves born to Mala in 2013, Sally in 2016, Alana in 2013 or 14, Icky in 2013 or 14, and Shirley in 2016. And I did find an article stating that Sally was pregnant in 2016 After the circus

Sheesh. Bonnie, Mala, Icky, and Alana in 2013/2014 and Sally and Shirley in 2016. That's so many pregnant cows that they decided to announce pregnancy for but never followed up on.

@PSO since you have posted with info about the Ringling group in the past, do you know anything about this?
