As reported on socials - 0.1 “Axelle” was transferred from San Antonio to Ellen Trout Zoo yesterday. She will be joining 1.0 “Ashur” at Ellen Trout for a possible future breeding recommendation.
You can find an older studbook, I’ve seen some from the early 2010’s through Google just by searching lion studbook. There may not be access to a current one unless you’re a zookeeper or member of the AZA where animal program managers can see it. Denver Zoo comes to mind of having an all male lion pride, they’ve posted videos and photos of their pride often.I have two questions.
First, is there any publicly available access to the studbook for African lions in North America?
Second, which zoos in North America are exhibiting a pride including a coalition of males?
Thanks for your help.
Thank you. I can see Denver has beautiful boys. What I cannot tell is whether they have a pride of a coalition of males living with females. You can find an older studbook, I’ve seen some from the early 2010’s through Google just by searching lion studbook. Thank you. That is what I thought. The coalition of males live separate from the family group. There are no females living with the boys.
Another update! This time, a very unfortunate one

No, it is not. CMZ has stated this transfer is for socialization purposes and not for breeding. Is this move for a breeding recommendation? Aren’t the girls related to Boma? Both of their fathers, Abuto & Ayotunde are brothers.
