Detroit had a litter of four cubs to Amirah and Kalu! Sadly one of the four cubs passed, with the other three still alive and thriving! They will go on exhibit in the next few months!

I know I'm behind the times, does Tsavo still reside at Fort Worth Zoo? I can't find anything on him.

The only mention of a Tsavo in the current studbook that came out in April is one at Wildlife Safari, who has no record of being at Fort Worth in his life. He was born at a private holder, then went to Denver, and is now at Wildlife Safari in Oregon. There are no reports of a death or transfer of a male at Forth Worth either.

Looking at an old studbook current to 2012, I see a male that lived there from 2005-7 before going to Sacramento and subsequently Peoria, where he died in the fall of 2023. I believe this was Arthur though, so still at a dead end for Tsavo.

Blank Park Zoo in Iowa will acquire (1m.2f) African lions from another unspecified facility in the future for their new exhibit.
