(1.1) Komodo dragons named Satu and Ratu passed away in September 2024 at the San Diego Zoo in California. Also a (1.0) Komodo dragon was transferred from Zoo Miami in Florida to the San Diego Zoo*.

Since 2023, the Brevard Zoo in Florida has maintained (1.0) Ryu; while their previous dragon, (1.0) Sheldon, was moved to a different facility around the same time.

Do you know under what circumstances both Komodo dragons passed away?
(It seems a bit much in just one month....)
As mentioned by @wild boar in the Minnesota Zoo News 2025 thread, one of the facility's (1.0) Komodo dragons passed away (though when exactly & cause of death is not known).

I think I may have solved the mystery as to where (1.0) Sheldon ended up; for according to a photographer’s account on Instagram. He now lives at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
[EDIT] It is also mentioned there that he is estimated to be 17 years old.

As reported by @Haliaeetus in one of the news threads, (1.0) Charlie of the Bronx Zoo has moved on to the Saint Louis Zoo, which (presumably) makes the latter a new-ish holder of the species.

Toronto Zoo has announced the arrival of 1.1 Komodo Dragons. Naming is underway, per discussion in the appropriate Toronto Zoo thread, it is thought they are a sibling pair from San Antonio.
