North American Matschie's Tree-Kangaroo Population

Unless they've passed recently and I missed it, Detroit might still have one elderly individual behind the scenes? While it's a shame they no longer exhibit them, to be fair it's a species that seems like it'd be an awkward fit with the current layout/theming.
Their individual is elderly and - inferred here - BTS.

They may come back, a keeper confirmed yesterday it is still alive.

Recently heard Saint Louis may still have a specimen behind the scenes - does anyone know if this is true?

Banyon has died at Zoo Miami aged 16 years from spinal arthritis and other aged-related illnesses.

Sad as so soon on the birth of their new joey tree kangaroo! Breeding pairs are a hard thing to. come by .... For now, the mother will have plenty of work on her plate raising her joey.

Is 16 years of age a good age for tree kangaroos?

I’m not sure but I know detroits tree kangaroo is 22 years old.

So there's two or three joeys right now (Bronx, Roger Williams, Miami) but also two or three animals have died recently (Detroit, Teaching Zoo, Miami) so the population remains kind of weirdly stable, huh? Really hoping the current pairs are productive and the population is able to expand sometime.

The tree roo population has generally been slightly declining for years now, and while roughly stable the past few years their long term status is uncertain. Births have generally been consistent but not enough to actually grow the population, it's probably going to come down to whether there's enough push to get the species trend positive rather than negative.
