North American Population Lists

I would personally like to see a population list for Snow Leopards, Masai Giraffes (is it too much to ask), Jaguars, Lowland Anoa, Tasmanian Devils, Polar Bears, North Island Brown Kiwi, Aardvarks, Gray Seals, Red River Hogs, Mexican Gray Wolves, and finally, the Baird’s Tapir if you ever have the time to create individual lists for any of the following suggestions of mine.
Animals R Amazing is already doing one for Snow Leopards so please don’t do one for them. He has probably worked hard and has spent a lot of time on it so let him finish his. It should be out later this month.

Oh yeah, he also is planning on doing one for Amur Leopards once he completes snow leopards so you don’t need to do those either.

Thank you @Zoo fanatic for the information. I was only making a simple guess that @EsserWarrior could make a population list for most, but not all of the species that I have suggested earlier, but until your post of course, I did not realize that someone else other than Esser was already making a population list for both the snow, and amur leopards. So thank you again for the knowledge.

No problem I believe besides polar bears which there is already a list for the rest of the species you suggested are fine.

One question I have is I know it definitely matters on the species and amount of individuals there are but how long does it take to make a entire list from start to finish?

I’ve had others request Masai Giraffes a well, so that is something I may consider doing.

I believe someone mentioned they thought about doing Jaguars, so I may hold off on that one for now.

Gray Seals and Red River Hogs may be a little more difficult, as I believe they have a very large population, so I’d have to see. The Mexican Gray Wolves may also be hard because I believe they do a lot of work with reintroducing them to the wild and do lots of pup swapping?

Aardvarks actually have a surprisingly small population. I believe their SSP is “Red,” so I may do them. Tasmanian Devils, Anoa, and the Kiwi are ones I’d consider as well.

The abundance of that species in North America is the biggest factor. For example, trying to do a list for African Lions or Red Kangaroos would be impossible - or would take forever!

It also depends on the amount of resources I can find surrounding the individuals. I usually look at previous studbooks, Facebook posts, news articles, and consult other people to try and find information regarding the lists.

Some lists can be completed in a day, while some may take a month. (How much free time I have is important too!)

Most of the lists I make are usually geared towards species that I personally find interesting - like I don’t think anyone cares much about the African Wild Dogs or Dholes - so I usually enjoy making them if I love the species.

Gray Seal actually has a fairly small population, I think you're thinking of Harbor seal. RRH probably would be very difficult, there's a lot of them!

The problem with asiatic black bears is they're now mostly in not so great places that don't like to give out info. They don't change hands often, at least, like snow leopards do.
I can PM you holders for them and gray seals, or any carnivore or ungulate. A few of those would be easy enough for me to look up.

If you would like to make species for rarer animals that would be great and I would possibly look into making rarity lists for other parts of the US if lists for rarer species existed.

I have started one for Jaguars but it will take me a while to finish it. If anyone has any information about the population feel free to pm me.

I'd be interested in a list of pangolins as well, though given how protective the zoos with them are of their exact stock numbers I'm not sure it would be possible.
