Hi, does anyone have any infiormation about a male named Karim? He was born in Germany in 2013 and was moved to EFBC Feline Conservation Center, which has since closed. Did he pass away or was he moved to a different facility?

I was told by a former volunteer there that he unfortunately passed away sometime before they closed. I have no information as far as a cause of death. I also don't know exactly when he passed away, but based on the animal inventory noted in USDA Inspection Reports, on March 2, 2022 they had 3 snow leopards (these would've been Anny, Karim and Shailen) and on January 26, 2023 they only had 1 (this would be Shailen, who was their only remaining snow leopard when they closed in February 2023).

A (1.0) snow leopard (the unnamed one) passed away on June 13th at age 7 at the San Francisco Zoo in California due to sepsis.

Recently, it was announced that (1.0) Layan of the Idaho Falls Zoo had been moved to the Santa Barbara Zoo; for whom he is replacing the latter’s former resident “Kisa”.

Following his departure, this leaves the Idaho Falls Zoo with just (0.1) Pandora, their sole female.
