The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores is a facility located in Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina (duh). The aquarium hosts mainly native wildlife including North American river otter, eastern screech owl, bald eagle, American alligator, eastern diamondback rattlesnake, cottonmouth, musk turtle, spiny softshell turtle, loggerhead sea turtle, squirrel tree frog, grey tree frog, eastern spadefoot toad, blue ridge dusky salamander, and broken striped newt, among various fishes, sharks, rays, and invertebrates.
On January 26th, the aquarium announced that due to avian influenza, they have moved their bald eagles off exhibit. On August 10th, the aquarium announced they are back on exhibit.
