Northern White Rhino dies in captivity

Nesari, one of the critically endangered Northern White Rhino's in the Czech zoo has died. She was nearly 40 years old.

Sad news. But he was possibly too old for breeding, wasn't he (although DNA sampling for the "Frozen zoo" could still perhaps be done)? I thought all the remaining Northern White Rhinos in the world, perhaps four of them in total, have been moved from Dvor Kralove to a conservancy in Kenya.

Both rhinos, females Nesárí and Nabiré, that remained in Dvur Kralove, were infertile (that was the reason they were not moved to Kenya).
