I went in December and I was still unimpressed with the Gorilla exhibit, but each to their own I guess

It must be maturing alot better than it looked when first opened as it was then as far as i`m concerned it was the worst exhibit in the U.K for Gorillas will have to wait to see if my view changes when i visit later in the year.

I think that's a bit of a harsh statement when you look at Twycross.

When you compare the amount of money spent on Londons to what Twycross did on theirs sorry but its not harsh,i agree Twycross is not perfect by a long way but they got better value for money than London did.

Gorilla Kingdom (like a lot of London's encloures) looks better and bigger in photos IMO.

I'd say London's best enclosure is actually the African Bird Safari, despite all the money and fuss given to Gorilla Kingdom, Blackburn Pavillion, Mappins and Clore etc.

It does look a lot better than when it first opened. They have added a load more dead trees and the vegetation has matured. The horrible fake tree and the mixing of the Colobus(or failure thereof) are still the major downsides.

Visually, as a display, it is actually among the best in Uk as the animals are visible from a respectable distance along the paths all around two sides of the enclosure. Whereas most other watermoated displays have too few access points in my opinion(Bristol, Paignton (the worst in that respect), Blackpool) The reason given is often to allow the animals 'privacy' when in reality it just means you are restricted from seeing them properly.

There still seems to be no news. I presume a male must have been identified from somewhere by now but the transport/paperwork etc are perhaps taking up time. Its now nearly 5 months since they lost 'Bobby' and they must been keen to get a new one soon.

ISIS says 2.11.3 (although the 2.0.3 are Saimiri boliviensis and the 0.11 are Samiri boliviensis boliviensis)
