I assume the leopard is an Amur?!!!

In 2012 the zoo recieved a pair of Dusky langurs from Taschkent Zoo and at the beginning of February this year the first baby was born :).

Novosibirsk started keeping Yellow-throated martens in 1979 and proofed to be very succesfull in breeding this species. Last year for example no less then 10 young were bred. One of the animals -a male- was now send to Moscow Zoo.
A young female Amur tiger was send to the Omoriyama Zoo in Japan.

Today it was announced that the director of Novosibirsk Zoo, Rostislav Shilo, died aged 75 following medical treatment in Israel.
To quote from a press report:
"During his illness, the zoo was headed by Rostislav Shilo's son, Andrey.
Rostislav Shilo was born 23 October 1940 in Iman (now Dalnerechensk) in Primorye region, in the Russian Far East. He came to the Novosibirsk Zoo in 1961, as a veterinary paramedic.
After military service he returned to the zoo and became head of the mammal department. In 1969, Rostislav Shilo became the director of the zoo, a post he held for 48 years.
Among the zoo's biggest current projects are the construction of the first dolphinarium in Siberia and an enclosure for penguins. Both projects are scheduled for 2016."

Does Novosibirsk Zoo not have its own forum section or media gallery yet? I can't seem to find any, and would be interested in seeing a review or pictures.

According to press article, Novosibirsk expects to import wombats in September, from Australia.

ZTL also lists them as holding Marbled cat.

Indeed - it is the same animal which was part of a customs seizure of 108 smuggled animals, and which was the subject of the following rather inaccurate prediction when the hope was voiced on Zoochat that it would be sent to a zoo:

Don't get too excited. This cat will either perish or, more possibly, gets lost into unseen private trade (with death, autopsy & disposal being faked for Russian wildlife control).
