The zoo has announced that 5-year old mountain lion Toro was euthanized earlier today after a battle with histosytic sarcoma.On August 25th, the zoo announced that a (1.0) cougar named Toro has been diagnosed with histiocytic sarcoma cancer.

On October 4th, the zoo announced they acquired a (1.0) cougar that was unable to jump a fence in the Santa Rosa area and is currently being treated at the hospital.

According to zoo officials, Nixon will not be released back into the wild if he recovers. Because he was orphaned at such a young age, he was unable to learn how to survive in the wild from his mother.
