Joined a while back but never got around to posting. Thought I'd say hello. I have an abiding passion for cognitive ethology and animals. I must confess I am not a great fan of zoos. In fact, I become depressed when I visit one, because I hate to see creatures confined all their lives. But perhaps their lives are no worse than those of cats who live indoors all their lives (though I hate that, too.)
I understand that there are practical reasons for having zoos, and I do visit them from time to time. I'm just saying....
