The father is Ngwani. He moved to Zoo Frankfurt last summer.
Nothing has been officially announced about the new breeding male yet. But I read somewhere that it will probably be Ewango from Dvur Kralove.

Nothing has been officially announced about the new breeding male yet. But I read somewhere that it will probably be Ewango from Dvur Kralove.
The 1-year-old okapi male Toka has moved from Zoo Basel to a zoo in Germany. Which zoo that is has not yet been announced.

Not Toka but 17-year-old okapi male Imba has moved to another zoo. He moved to Wilhelma Stuttgart at the end of March. Because he was born in the United States, he is important for the breeding programme.

Copenhagen has 3 okapis:

0,1 Elikia (10-12-2020, Zoo Frankfurt) (Ahadi x Antonia)
An okapi was born at Parco Zoo Falconara a few weeks ago. The sex of the young is not yet known. It is the second young for parents Dayo and Elani. Their first young, Italo, born in 2022, will soon move to Tierpark Berlin.

How many okapis are at the Safari park the Beekse Bergen?
I visited the safaripark last week and there were 4. The list from MennoPebesma, 2024, says there are 6 and ‘it’s an okapi world’ says there are 5. How many are in the park and what are their names??

There should currently be five okapis at Beekse Bergen:
1,0 Zukuma
1,0 Dex
1,0 Quinn
0,1 Abeni
0,1 Neyla

When will to pair move to Singapore Zoo (I had an inkling it would be them to receive okapi)?
London indeed has only one female okapi left.
A total of three male okapis live in the UK:
- 2-year-old Mzimu at Yorkshire Wildlife Park who lives with his mother.
- 20-year-old Stump at Chester Zoo who is the breeding male there.
- 7-year-old Nuru at Marwell Zoo who is the breeding male there.
So within the UK, Mzimu seems the most logical choice to me.
Regarding the article on the Okapis:

An okapi was born at Beekse Bergen on May 8. It is a male and he has been named Beni. Who the parents are is not mentioned but they should be Zukuma and Abeni.

Beekse Bergen has confirmed in a ‘youtubeshort’, made in cooperation with ‘omroep brabant’, that Abeni is indeed the mother.
The almost two year old male Okapi (Leki) is moving to Singapore soon to join 3 females. His mother is assumed to be pregnant again with her third calf.
That's interesting. 1.1 Okapis from Antwerp, 1.0 from Dublin, and another 0.2 from ?. So Singapore will hold 2.3 Okapis?
Based on the plans for Rainforest wild south the okapi habitat seems to take up alot if space
