Okapis in Europe

Hi,
How many okapis are at the Safari park the Beekse Bergen?
I visited the safaripark last week and there were 4. The list from MennoPebesma, 2024, says there are 6 and ‘it’s an okapi world’ says there are 5. How many are in the park and what are their names??

There should currently be five okapis at Beekse Bergen:
1,0 Zukuma
1,0 Dex
1,0 Quinn
0,1 Abeni
0,1 Neyla

Okapi at London Zoo.

I believe London currently need another male(?) to join their existing single female.

Is there a suitable male in the UK? Seems unlikely perhaps and if so, how easy will it be for them to import one from Europe post Brexit?
London indeed has only one female okapi left.

A total of three male okapis live in the UK:

- 2-year-old Mzimu at Yorkshire Wildlife Park who lives with his mother.

- 20-year-old Stump at Chester Zoo who is the breeding male there.

- 7-year-old Nuru at Marwell Zoo who is the breeding male there.

So within the UK, Mzimu seems the most logical choice to me.

Can you reprint some of the text as the feature article is behind another pay wall!

When will to pair move to Singapore Zoo (I had an inkling it would be them to receive okapi)?
Regarding the article on the Okapis:
"Are there any cases you're looking forward to this year?
2 Okapis, Xandor and Kisala will move soon to Singapore. It's the first time okapis move to Asia. That means I still have to preform health checkups before the move, and I still have to chip Xandor. The fact I can cooperate with an international breeding program of such an threatened and beautiful species is special. It's unique we can couple and place animals outside of Europe like this."

The rest of the article is regarding the first year of the vet with special cases and stories. If anyone is interested I can transcribe and translate the entire article. However I would post it in the Antwerp zoo news 2024 as to not deviate off topic. Or I can send you some pictures of the paper article.
