I like the 'interactive" concept -- getting yourself bitten by a tiger is really interactive. Getting yourself eaten is even more so.

This was not at Oklahoma City Zoo but some roadside attraction called the Garold Wayne Interactive Zoological Park according to the article in the link.

Six month old giraffe Kyah will be undergoing risky surgery next week to hopefully save the calf's life. She has a heart vessle thats wrapped around her esophous meaning she cant really eat. It will be a high risk surgery, it's never been done on a giraffe, but it's her only chance. I hope Kyah can pull through.

One has to give credit to the staff and vets who tried to help Kyah. It couldn't have been easy for them knowing they had just a 50% chance of success and death was a very real and likely possiblity. They did all they could to give her the best shot at survival and ensured her brief 6 month life as as enjoyable as it could be. Hopefully they can take comfort in the fact that because they tried, her surgery and death might help another little giraffe one day with a similar problem.

A female gorilla was born August 16th to Ndjole and Togo. Ndjole didnt take to motherhood and now the infant is being hand reared. It's hoped she will be able to go back to the troop later.

The gorilla baby has been named Kamina. She is still being hand reared since attempts to reintroduce her to mom Ndjole have failed.

Lily, a former search and rescue dog, has become the surrogate mother to the zoo's abandoned African Wild Dog pups. The pups are from two litters but Im not sure the total pups. Lily has one of her own plus at least three wild dogs. The wild dog pups have wounds on them you can clearly see in the photos. They were removed due to a lack of maternal care.

The wild dog pups have been named. The male and two females are named Maji, Ayana, and Zahra. They weaned and next week their foster family Lily and Uno will be leaving them. As weather permits the pups are with the adult pack.
