Old photos of Beijing Zoo

I will keep updating this post. If you have any animals you want to see in the history of Beijing Zoo, you can reply here. I can try my best to help you find them.
Thank you for sharing. These photos are all very interesting.
It would be nice to see if you have any photos of great apes or other primates.
Has Beijing Zoo ever received animals from South Africa?

Lesser kudu, Beijing Zoo acquired this animal from the Soviet Union in the 1960s, and the time of raising is unknown.

Do we know which collection in the Soviet Union that Beijing Zoo's Lesser kudu (Ammelaphus sp.) and were they the Northern (sp. imberbis) or the Southern (sp. australis)? Regarding the facility in the Soviet Union that had them, were they wild caught or captive bred?

Do you have any historic photographs of Saiga tatarica or gazelles from the genus Procapra at Beijing Zoo?

Indian rhino "Xiang Ka", The Kingdom of Nepal presented the rhinoceros to Beijing in July 1959.

In October 1971, Xiang Ka escaped from its enclosure and fought with a male black rhinoceros for half an hour, finally tearing its abdomen and causing the black rhinoceros to die.

In November 1978, Xiang Ka suffered from stomach disease all the year round and died of anorexia.

Wow never expected an Indian Rhinoceros to be able to kill a Black Rhinoceros in a fight, more would have assumed the other way around (but to be honest had never thought of it as a possible altercation anyway).
