Some recent news from Pakawi Park:
A new species has arrived at the zoo: Blue-throated piping-guan (
Pipile cumanensis), according to the zoo's website multiple (common) bird species left the zoo in order to give room to new species.
The following species have left the collection: Great horned owl (
Bubo virginianus), Turquoise-fronted Amazon (
Amazona aestiva aestiva), Rosy-faced lovebird (
Agapornis roseicollis),
Chaco owl (
Strix chacoensis), Eurasian tawny owl (
Strix aluco), Golden eagle (
Aquila chrysaetos), Rose-breasted cockatoo (
Eolophus roseicapilla) and Senegal turaco
(Tauraco persa buffoni). According to the website closely related species of the ones that left are still present in the zoo.
Yesterday (29th of April) a ring-tailed lemur was born, the group now consists of 5 animals (2,2,1).
