@Gigit it sounds like Moric had the same problem/disabilities that Tripa the Young Male Sumatran Orangutan at Chester had. Tripa was euthanised in 2018. Was Moric euthanised or did he pass away naturally?

Tripa had thyroid problems. According to Budapest's FB post, Moric's immediate cause of death was complex circulatory failure caused by an acute intestinal failure.

Male Bornean, Ramon, moved from Blackpool to Munster today, 13 June 2022. He was born in St Petersburg on 20 November 1998.

Not confirmed, but from reports on Facebook, it is thought that Bornean male, Tigu, has moved from Nyireghaza to Beauval.

Does anyone know how Kaylen at Twycross is doing, following the death of her Mum Kibarah? Furthermore is it known if a Breeding Facility has been found for Silvestre at Monkey World. Currently Silvestre is residing in The Orangutan Nursery. At 12.5 years of age he should really be the head of a Breeding Family. Not only could Silvestre injure one of the Younger Orangutans but he could have a Baby with Oshine. Yes all of the Orangutans are on the pill but accidentally Breeding does happen. This has been demonstrated many times with Monkey World’s Chimps. While discussing Monkey World is Awan going to depart her Material Family soon? Her Half-Sister Dinda departed at around her age. Personally I think Monkey World should move their Orangutans within the Park. I think Awan and Lucky should join Gordon’s Group. In return I think Hsiao-Lan should move to Tuan’s.

Regarding the future of Blackpool Zoos Orangutans I think Belayan from Wingham would be a good Breeding Male. This is because I think Molly and Jin should live their lives at Wingham. Molly as we all know isn’t that friendly towards other Orangutans, for her to be so besotted with Jin is especially fantastic.

@Gigit do you agree with my thoughts and can you please answer my questions?

I believe KAYAN has been discussed recently on the Twycross thread.

I am not interested in futile fantasising about which orangutan should go where. I probably know more than you do if your information is based on watching TV programmes. But I am not in the position of the studbook keeper who has all the latest vital information, such as the mean kinship list, to hand. All that is necessary in making decisions. That and the intimate knowledge of the zoos concerned.

Hsiao Ning has given birth to a male infant at Zoo Rostock. The father is Sabas.
It is wonderful to see a nursery-raised female (especially of genetically valuable wild-caught parents) take to motherhood so well.

Rostock: a Bornean male was born today, 15 June 2022, to Sabas x Hsaio Ning.

Unlike her own mother, Hsiao-Ning has proved an excellent mother. In addition to raising her own daughter (now aged five); she raised her niece (now aged four) after her sister passed away unexpectedly.

It’s nice to see some Monkey World orangutans out there breeding considering how many founders and first generation animals they have.

As much as I have heard Ramon will be moved to Münster but he right now is in Frankfurt until Münster has done some construction work in their indoor enclosure.
