I'm curious to see if any of the projects will be completed on time.
I thought that the Predators and Red Ape Reserve exhibits were delayed at some point.
There was a break in at the zoo. A wild mountain beaver found its way into the river otters exhibit. Poor little thing was captured and returned to the wild.
Odd bit of news for you, human remains have been found at the zoo while construction was being done. They are very old and likely belong to members of a family that had a farm on the site long before the zoo. Shouldnt slow down construction.
Hopefully this is one construction date they'll keep to. It seems to be that they're usually delayed with the predicted opening of some exhibits. I'm sure a ton of visitors will be furious if they don't have a train till 2015.
The littlest lion cub has had to be pulled for hospitalization to hopefully save her life. They hope to get her stablized and thriving again before reuniting her with her mom and sisters as soon as possible.
More lion cub news.
The cubs and mom get to go out into the exhibit space for short periods of time. Visitors that are LUCKY enough to be at the zoo at the right time can see them if the temperature outside is higher than 55. There's not a set schedule for the cubs and their public debut may not be till the weather gets a lot nicer.
I should be visiting Portland soon, and with my luck it will most likely be raining for my entire visit. Because that's usually the way it goes.
