I agree there is no place for abuse and I think our moderators do a remarkably good job (far better than some forums I have seen). However if you are suggesting they look at every single post and approve it before it goes live, I don't think that is workable at all. There are far too many posts on this site to make that feasible, even if you increase the number of moderators (which in itself is problematic). I will remind everyone who reads this that you can click "report" under a comment you think is inappropriate, whether or not the comment is directed at you....Would it be possible for there to be more 'moderators' who could take turns to scan through comments and filter out those that are abusive? The BBC News website has such a facility and some comments can be delayed for several minutes. I doubt if there would be a problem on Zoochat...
