Cougar Mountain Zoo Overemphasis on sculptures?

I just got done going through Snowleopard's excellent assortment of gallery photos for this micro-zoo.

Besides the horrid enclosures for the lemurs, something else struck me which I hadn't seen in my previous visit some years ago. CMZ seems to have spent an awful lot of $$ on bronze sculptures (which are not in any way cheap to make), rather than using those same funds to improve their exhibits.

Unless those works were all donated (doubtful), I find myself questioning their priorities, and not in a good way. Do they want to be an art museum or a zoo?

Happy travels.

@kc7gr: The zoo is very tiny, with only about 35 mammals of varying species but loads of macaws and parrots. You make a great point about the sculptures, as they can be expensive and at the same time the zoo also has a natural history museum packed with relics from the world of taxidermy. Is Cougar Mountain an art gallery, a museum or a minute zoo?

It sounds like none of the above, but rather a personal collection/hobby. Which is fine, as long as they provide reasonable living conditions for the animals, which they patently don't.
