News Updates:
May - The park welcomed a common marmoset called Rosa, bought to the park by relatives after her owner passed away. She had previously been living in a cage in the front room.
May - Three meerkats, Tanami, Del-Boy and Rodney, joined the park. The female came from Chester to partner Gibson, who lost his mate a few months ago. The males may also have come from Chester but unsure.
May - Tonka, one of the parks Javan langurs, passed away after intestinal issues. He was 16.
Mar - A male sparrow hawk was rescued by the park after being attacked by a seagull. Unfortunately the bird, named Jaque, passed away with a bleed on the brain three days later however.
Feb - Two Diana monkeys arrived at the park from the Netherlands named Taabo and Imara. Taabo has an eye condition making him unsuitable for breeding as part of the EESP.
Jan - Wilma the snowy owl passed away after an illness followed by a cardiac arrest.
Jan - Nelson the buzzard, one of the parks longest residents, passed away after a stroke. He was estimated to be 36 and was in the care of the park owners before the park was even built.
Jan - The park released a buzzard, named Spirit, into the wild after a rescue on Christmas Eve 2021.
Dec 2021 - A male Red-Billed Blue Magpie arrived from Cotswold Wildlife Park to accompany their young female, who’s mate died in January and was plucking her feathers as a result.
Nov 2021 - A barn owl, Oakley, rescued as a chick in September, was deemed unsuitable for release found a permanent home at the park.
May 2021 - An Indian Star Tortoise named Rory arrived at the park.
May 2021 - Three Water Dragons, seized by Brighton RSPCA, arrived at the park.
April 2021 - An injured quail named Colin, who’s owners could not be found, was rehomed at the park.
Sep 2020 - Astrid, a 5 year old Crested Gecko, was donated to the park after her owner could no longer care for her.
Sep 2020 - Gizmo, a common marmoset, arrived at the park after being rescued from the pet trade.
May 2020 - Gobi the meerkat was put to sleep after developing a life-threatening condition.
May 2020 - Elfie, a 32 year old squirrel monkey was put to sleep after she developed health issues.
