The female there is Pia, born in Antwerp in 2014 from the same pair still living in Antwerp today. That pair, according to what I read, was not allowed to have any more young because hereditary rickets occurred in the young. Rickets which I think came from lack of sunlight in their former enclosure. That is why I am also curious to know whether they will breed again in Antwerp now that they can go out there and whether the young from Berlin will stay alive or whether they will also get this rickets. I am also curious as to why Doué la Fontaine, where they live in a top-notch enclosure, has never succeeded in breeding with this species, despite varying combinations of individuals.
