We finally have a date for my long awaited visit to Paignton Zoo. We are going next tuesday for the first time and I can't wait for it! If you want me to find anything out please post it here and I will try and find out for you. Please post all questions by saturday evening as we are leaving on sunday morning.:)

Unfortunatly this is the only time of year I can get down there. It's a long way from where I live in Cheshire. We don't often take holidays either so it's not like we could slot it in whilst we were down in the West Country anyway.
 
Just go with an open mind and allow the crowds to flow over you ....enjoy what you are going for the animals .Bring some binoculars and you will see more much more than most.:)

Thank you for the advice. Binoculors sound tempting but I reckon my Digital camera with it's zoom will do nicely:) I will do a short update when I get back on Wednesday evening.
 
Are you a member at Chester (or anywhere else that has a reciprocal arrangement with Paignton)? If so, you can jump the queue at the main entrance. Last August I asked a very helpful lady who was acting as sheepdog for the queue and she shuttled me straight through the member's entrance - but don't forget your card and your letter with the expiry date.

Thank you I am not a member of Chester Zoo yet although I do plan to become one in the near future. Is is true you can get discounts on admission at other zoo's if you become a member of Chester Zoo?

Yes, there is a list on the website of other collections where you can get in free.

I will be going to Paignton Zoo the week after and looking forward to it. I don't think I have been there for 5 years now as I have not managed to get a holiday (poor me). I will try ignore the crowds too :p
